Hiiiii you! WHY AM I SO HUNGRY TODAY?! It’s only 9:15am and I just finished the protein muffin I brought for my mid-morning snack. I was trying to hold out till 10 to eat it, but I could smell it and I needed it in my face asap. For the first time ever since joining Alchemy, I got my butt up and made it to the 6am class before work today. I was surprisingly peppy during the workout, like really wanting to dance to the music during my EMOM rests, but I’m a terrible dancer and I was in the front row, so I decided not to make a total ass of myself and settled for some side-to-side swaying and tapping my hands on my hips. Looked way cooler than dancing. That’s what I’m telling myself.
I’m thinking I owe my energy this morning to a new little pre-workout concoction I made. Every morning I have a glass of warm water with 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar, and on mornings that I’m planning to workout right away, I add 1/2 scoop Ketones. The ketones definitely help prevent the half-way energy slump I used to experience when working out in a fasted state (before eating breakfast). But this morning, I was feeling pretty sleepy at 5:30am, so I add in 1 tsp matcha and BAM. SO. MUCH. ENERGY. Like I felt like I could have kept the workout going another 10 min today. It was so weird. I’m going to try this new energy elixir a few more times before I give it total credit, but as of now I’m saying you should definitely try it out!
Lindsay’s Pre-Workout Elixir:
— 8-10 oz room temperature or warm water
— 1/2-1 scoop orange flavored ketones (you can use a full scoop, I use 1/2 because a full scoop makes me jittery)
— 1 tsp matcha
Blend up in a blender and drink about 20-30 minutes before working out!
Now on to this cashew cream pasta. This recipe is a spin on a meal from our Alchemy Challenge meal plan, but I changed the cashew cream sauce to better suite my tastes, and roasted the chicken breasts to keep them super moist and delicious!
Plus, this can be made totally vegan by omitting the chicken!
